Susana Ribeiro Arthur Gomes de Almeida

Susana Ribeiro is currently a health project manager for the Ukraine Mission of the international humanitarian organization Premiere Urgence Internationale. In this role, she leads the implementation of projects in the Government Control Areas of Eastern Ukraine. The focus of the activities is on providing quality healthcare to the people affected by the ongoing conflict, including the provision of free medicines, capacity building for health workers, and support to the COVID-19 response.

Previously, Susana was a senior associate at Global Health Strategies, where she provided project management and programmatic support to projects related to vaccine development and production, malaria and global health research. She also was a focal point for facilitating research-, production- and quality-related activities under the Advancing Vaccine Manufacturers (AVM) and Sustaining Vaccine Manufacturers (SVM) projects, supported by PATH and funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, targeting Bio-Manguinhos/Fiocruz and Butantan.

Additionally, Susana has a strong background with policy and advocacy, in Brazil and in the United States and in laboratory settings. She has worked as a pathotoxicology research assistant, toxicology consultant, and toxicology clinical analysis research assistant at the Sao Paulo State University (UNESP).

Susana holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from UNESP (2013) and a Master in Public Health from Boston University (2016). She also has a graduate degree in “Project Planning and Management of NGOs” from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (2017).
