
Ashlesha Kaushik
Ashlesha Kaushik, M.B.B.S., M.D., FAAP, is recipient of the 2019 U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Childhood Immunization Champion Award for Iowa. Dr. Kaushik is presently chief of pediatric infectious diseases and director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at Unity Point Health, Iowa, and holds an academic appointment by the Stead Family Department of Pediatrics, University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. Dr. Kaushik is the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Iowa Chapter Immunization representative, AAP Iowa Chapter Champion for Infectious Diseases and serves on its Committee on Immunization. As the AAP Iowa Chapter Immunization Representative, Dr. Kaushik is at the forefront of AAP efforts toward developing an Iowa immunization coalition and parent information network in the state. In addition to her strong advocacy with AAP, Dr. Kaushik has educated the community through her media, newspaper and TV interviews.
